The BCI Gear Exchange Hub is a space on the Beacon Creative Industries website where filmmakers, videographers, photographers, and audio engineers in the Hudson Valley can post used production gear for sale or trade within the local creative community.

At some point, every filmmaker or production person ends up in the same situation.
You open a case in the studio and there it is — a piece of gear you haven’t used in a while. Maybe it was part of an older setup. Maybe you upgraded. Maybe the project you bought it for came and went.
The gear itself is still perfectly good. It’s just not part of your everyday kit anymore.
Most people’s first instinct is to throw it on Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist. And sometimes that works. But if you’ve ever tried selling production gear there, you know it can be a bit of a mixed bag.
Those platforms are built for everything — couches, bicycles, kitchen appliances — and production equipment just kind of lives somewhere in the middle of all that.
That’s part of the reason the BCI Gear
Exchange Hub exists. Around the studio and at events, people were constantly asking the same questions:
“Is anyone selling a light kit?”
“Does somebody have a set of sticks?”
“I’m looking to sell this lens”
It made sense to give those conversations a place to live.
The Gear Exchange on the BCI website is exactly that — a place where people working in film, video, audio, and production around the Hudson Valley can post equipment they’re moving on from, or keep an eye out for something they’ve been looking for.
Sometimes it’s a camera body someone upgraded from. Sometimes it’s a microphone that doesn’t get used anymore. Sometimes it’s a whole case of lighting gear that’s ready for its next life.
