Cinematographer, Colorist, & Gaffer Intro
Hello fellow creatives!
I am Jaden Moffitt, a DP, Colorist, Gaffer and Editor currently based in Newburgh. I have shot too many shorts to count and have a number of features under my belt as well. Recently had the pleasure of meeting some of the team at BCI who recommended I let my presence be known here! So cool to have a new source for local creatives who work in the film / tv / video world. I am excited to meet new people and build connections with you all in the Hudson Valley. If you're ever in need of someone to take on anything camera, lighting, or post related, I am all ears!
At the moment, I am working to establish and produce content for my YouTube channel / production studio called Pharos Films.
In my effort to make this content, I rented an additional PL to Sony E-Mount adapter from BCI to allow me to shoot the first official video of my intro series "Vignettes" which will be releasing at the start of June. This being the first one, I decided to go out on a limb and try something new to me. I shot the scene using two FX3's so I could capture two very different looks, simultaneously. Using a set of anamorphic lenses I own, I shot one version with a conventional widescreen and anamorphic approach and left it in color. For the other, I took a page out of Greig Fraser's book and shot with my anamorphic lens rotated 90º to produce a very unique, vertically squeezed anamorphic frame which yields a 4:3 aspect image. With a little over 3 hours to shoot and only myself and a lighting friend available to make this, I would consider the experiment a major success and something I might play with more in the future. I attached a few images to my post for you all to see the results of the shoot, though they are notably not properly graded yet.
Looking forward to connecting with all of you!
Best,
Jaden Moffitt
